About the Northville Oral History Project
During the late 1980s the Historical Society cooperated with the Northville District Library on this Oral History Project. More than 100 long-time residents participated in the interviews and many volunteers worked many hours to transcribe the cassettes. Funding for the intial project was provided by the Friends of the Library and the Northville Historical Society and the work continues, thanks to members of the Northville Township Historical District Commission and library staff. This is a unique way to learn about the history of Northville as experienced by those who lived it and helped create it.

This is wonderful! I happened upon it while doing research on something completely different. My grandmother is Jean Lyke Bogart of Northville. Ruby Cole was her aunt. I recognize many names and I am looking forward to sharing this with my grandmother. Thank you for putting this together.
ReplyDeleteCandi,
ReplyDeleteI'm so pleased you found these and took the time to comment. We've had these wonderful interviews on cassette for a long time and now we're able to share them with a much broader audience. This is a very special project and I hope your grandmother has a great time listening to the stories! - Wendy
